WHO IS GUBBIO? The Gubbio Project is housed at St. John the Evangelist Church in the Mission neighborhood and St. Boniface Church in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, which combined, hold over half of the City’s homeless population. The Project currently provides critical services to an average of 320 individuals per day through a highly unique and successful model that combines social justice, peer support, and harm reduction. At the center of Gubbio’s programming is Sacred Sleep, where our guests are provided with a safe, clean place to sleep on the pews and mats of the churches from 6 am – 2 pm, Monday through Friday.
